Earlier this year we shared news that Miami’s Design District would receive new luxury retailers to catapult it to a high-end fashion destination,B and now there’s more news surrounding the area. Plans are currently underway for the hot spot known for its art galleries, furniture showrooms and restaurants to receive a new commercial neighborhood. Last week property owner and developer Craig Robins made a proposal to build a $312 million high-end, commercial neighborhood which would feature 19-acres andB more than 1.1 million square feet of floor area.

By the time its construction is complete in the next few years the neighborhood will be comprised of 53 hotel units,B 96 residential units, and 2,571 above-ground and below-grade parking spaces. It will bring an additional 1,200 permanent jobs andB also include over 35,000 square feet of open space and 42,000 square feet of civic space.
