Since 1989, Ken Morris has been a South Florida entrepreneur, commercial property portfolio asset manager and accomplished real estate business owner specializing in corporate real estate services, tenant and landlord representation and property management.
As the General Managing Partner of an East Coast investment group, Ken first managed Belle Haven Towers – a 570-unit apartment complex in Alexandria, VA, and then managed the negotiations and disposition of the asset for $93 million in 2012 when a partnership associated with the Carlisle Group expressed interest in the property.
He was also the General Managing Partner from 2003-2014 of 300 Pine Island Associates, LTD and 300 Pine Island Associates, LTD, the respective ownership entities of suburban office buildings measuring 85,000 square feet and 50,000 square feet in Broward County.
For the past 30 years Ken has been associated with and operated Morris Southeast Group, a successful brokerage and property management company that Ken purchased from his father in the early 2000s. During his tenure there, he has completed over 500 lease and sale transactions involving office, industrial, retail and commercial space valued close to $1 billion.
He holds the prestigious SIOR designation (Society of Industrial & Office Realtors®) and regularly attends national conferences in the spring and fall to stay abreast of current trends in the commercial real estate industry and network with some of the top corporate real estate advisors from the U.S. and over 25 countries. Ken also has the RPA designation – Real Property Administrator, from the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). As an industry expert, Ken is a frequent source of information for businesses, economic development groups and media covering the commercial real estate industry.
Ken graduated from the University of Miami, School of Business and has been a South Florida resident since 1973. He is married with two teenage sons. A martial arts practitioner for many years, Ken holds several black belts in Aikido and Jui-jitsu. Ken also enjoy standup paddle boarding.
In addition to operating a full-service commercial real estate firm, Ken holds director positions on several charitable agencies, and has participated in numerous charitable organizations in the South Florida Community over the course of his career.
Alice Lucia Jackson moved her 25 years of brokerage business experience to Morris Southeast Group in July 2016, where she directs the firm’s Agency Leasing and Tenant Representation sectors. A specialist in Class A and B properties throughout Broward County, in the recent 36 months she has completed over 1.1 million square feet of transactions. Past and present clients include: Banyan Street Capital; New Boston Fund; W R Grace & Co.; UNUM Insurance; Northwestern Mutual; Talcott/Hartford; Sunbelt Investments, MCI, Motorola, General Motors, Liberty Mutual, First Capital Corporation, CitiFinancial, MetLife, Motorola, United HealthCare Services, Triple Net, Songy Partners, CDR Realty, Blackstone, Mainstreet Real Estate Services, and America’s Capital Partners.
Ms. Lucia Jackson has been in commercial real estate for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Morris Southeast Group, Ms. Lucia Jackson was a Senior Vice President at JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) for 10 years. Prior to JLL she was a principle with America’s Capital Partners (ACP) where her responsibilities included the leasing and oversight of 1.5 million s.f. of office buildings in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. She started her career with Cushman & Wakefield.
Education, Affiliations and Awards
A Fort Lauderdale native, Ms. Lucia Jackson graduated with honors from University of Bridgeport, CT with a bachelor’s degree, double major in Economics and Marketing. Ms. Lucia Jackson was the South Florida Chapter President of NAIOP in 2008 and served on its Board for eight years. She was the co-founder of the South Florida Broker’s Association and was one of the first five women in the State of Florida to receive the S.I.O.R. designation in 1988. She currently serves on the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s National Advisory Board, Community Foundation of Broward Board, Jack and Jill Children Development Chair and is a United Way Reading Pal. She also serves on the Housing advisory committee at the historic Indian Creek Country Club.
Ms. Lucia Jackson was named NAIOP’s Member of the Year in 2007 and Office Broker of the year in 2009. She was named a Woman of Influence in Florida by Florida Real Estate Magazine in 2008 and a Must Know Contact in Fort Lauderdale by Florida Trend Magazine in 2011.
Adriana Lilly joined Morris Southeast Group in July 2016 to start her career in commercial real estate. Her initial work – in addition to training, is to establish new networks and contacts, enhance the company’s marketing platform and generate new business with a concentration on tenant representation.
Most recently, she held a management position at BodyTrac Health and Fitness in Weston where she was the CMO (Chief Motivating Officer) and responsible for membership growth, promotions, social media and charity events. Earlier, Adriana held a sales position with Aviation Concepts in Sunrise where she worked with commercial airline companies, assisted with inventory management of airplane parts and organized the European Airline Conference in Paris, France.
She brings a depth of people skills from years of working in the service industry, particularly food and beverage. Over the years Adriana has worked in sales, catering, bartending, special events and as an assistant manager at restaurants in Plantation, Tallahassee, Sunrise and Weston. She is proficient in Farsi and Spanish. Adriana earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Hospitality from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
Vicki Grodner is Senior Vice-President in the Fort Lauderdale office of Morris Southeast Group, Inc., specializing in office, retail and industrial leasing and sales. She is a highly credentialed and well-respected veteran real estate professional with a career that spans over 20 years, in which time she has established herself as a dominant force in the commercial real estate industry. Her extensive experience in the commercial real estate industry has provided her a unique and invaluable perspective, understanding how to best represent both tenants/buyers and landlord/sellers in the highly competitive real estate market today.
For the last 10 years, Ms. Grodner has operated her own commercial real estate firm with a focus on Landlord and Tenant representation in the South Florida area. Her clients include both national (Cigna, Geico, Northern Insurance, General Services Administration, Prime Staffing) and local (law firms, CPA firms, etc.) tenants. In addition to leading her own real estate firm, Ms. Grodner has also owned and operated her own Healthcare Executive Search firm, with clients such as Memorial Healthcare, Tenet, Hospital Corporation of America, Martin Memorial, etc. As a relationship broker, Ms. Grodner, hopes to combine her knowledge of healthcare with her commercial real estate experience, giving her a clear advantage in today’s marketplace.
Formerly, Ms. Grodner worked for CBRE where she worked in the Corporate Real Estate division representing Spherion Corporation and acted as a consultant to Duke Realty in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to CBRE, she worked as a Transaction Manager for Highwoods Corporation, a REIT, in North Carolina with Tenants including Viacom, FAA, Prudential Real Estate, Campbell Corporation, Washington Mutual. Before joining Highwoods, Ms. Grodner held a senior brokerage position for The Galbreath Company (now Jones Lang LaSalle) where she represented clients such JE Robert (a division of Goldman Sachs) and earned national Peak Performance award, for “exceptional performance in Project Leasing”. Other clients included Lincoln National and Sentinel Real Estate Fund. During her tenure she also represented companies such as Sun International Corporation, Verizon, Sara Lee Corporation, and HQ (Regus Corporation) as tenant representative.
Ms. Grodner began her commercial career as Vice President of the well-known Atria Development Company in Plantation. In this role, she directed the South Florida sales and leasing activities for this major developer, responsible for a large portfolio. Her responsibilities included negotiating leases, maintaining budgetary controls, coordinating advertising, promotions and maintaining a high level of tenant satisfaction.
Ms. Grodner’s extensive experience and professional diversity continues to make her a sought-after professional in the market today. She is a people connector, and as a seasoned professional, she is tough-minded, ambitious, goal oriented, confident and persistent. These skills alone produce results, but it’s the combination of these skills with her passion for people and relationships that is her “secret sauce”. Her commitment to her clients and a clear understanding of their needs produces results in today’s competitive market. Her success comes from a keen sense of timing, patience and the ability to act quickly when necessary, creating that sense of urgency. She will continue strategizing with organizations to evaluate their acquisition and disposition requirements while skillfully teaming with organizations to evaluate strategic thinking, and measurable results, ensuring accurate financial analysis, creating a win – win for those she represents.
Ms. Grodner is a founding member of Gilda’s Club Fort Lauderdale and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). She has been a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1984 and is currently a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) candidate, having completed the financial, market and decision analysis portions of the designation.
Avi Baecht joined Morris Southeast Group in February of 2017 as Vice President and an office leasing specialist representing both landlords and tenants throughout Broward County. Previously, she worked with an office agency leasing team at CBRE representing a portfolio of approximately 2.5 million square feet of office space in Broward County, including Sawgrass Technology Park (645,000 SF), 1 East Broward in Fort Lauderdale (340,000 SF) and Weston Corporate Center I & II (150,000 SF).
Clients have included the California State Teacher’s Retirement System, Invesco Realty Advisors, BlackRock, Torburn Partners, Fifteen Group and many others.
Mrs. Baecht started her commercial real estate career in 2008 with Cassidy Turley in Virginia where she focused on landlord representation and completed more than 80 transactions totaling over 800,000 square feet. She is currently licensed in the State of Florida.
The Arlington, Virginia native has been active in the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) where she served on the National Board of Directors. Avi is a LEED Green Associate and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She has lived in South Florida since January of 2014 and currently resides in Coconut Creek.
Promoted to Controller in recent years, Maria Lima has capably and faithfully served Morris Southeast Group for over three decades. Her early support for the firm included general administrative duties and managing the firm’s accounting systems. In addition, she is responsible for property management operations and financial reporting of assets under management. Originally from Cuba, Maria is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Maria earned an Associates’ Degree in Marketing from Wilbur Wright College in Chicago, IL.
